Image optimization

Result: partial. Imported or Markdown-relative assets pass through the bundler and may receive content hashes. Files in static/ are copied unchanged. Docusaurus core does not automatically resize every image, emit responsive srcset variants, or convert it to modern formats.

The SVG above is co-located with this document. It demonstrates build-aware asset handling, not raster compression. Projects that need responsive image generation must add and maintain an image plugin or a separate asset pipeline.
